  1. You are such a beautiful spirit. I was truly inspired by you and I love your music. I have begun to do more protective styles so I can begin retaining length. Thank you so much for including us on your amazing journey.

  2. Alicia! You’re my hair idol! I have watched so many of your hair videos on youtube. I’m now following you. Maybe you can check out my blog and follow back? It would mean so much to me. I’m currently transitioning. 11months-no perm. Blessings to you.

  3. Hi, I just wanted to tell you I think you are absolutely gorgeous and I love your hair. About 5 months ago I was unhappy with my hair, my health and my body. So I decided to revamp and I want to use your YouTube videos as my guide. You are truly an inspiration. Do you have makeup tutorials too? Such as what brand and how you apply it? I think you look flawless. Keep up the good work.

  4. Thank you sooo much! I really appreciate that! I don’t do make up tutorials, I am still a beginner myself! LOL! I wear Coastal Scents eyeshadow matte palette. I use Iman Pressed Powder instead of liquid foundation.
    Thank you again! :)

  5. We don’t have to transition (my mother, sister and I), but we do have to learn how to take of our natural hair. We usually used to wear it in braids, get it pressed, etc, but all that stopped when I started playing sports. So in a way, we’re on a Natural Hair Journey of our own. We stopped using perms 5 years ago, and usually wear our hair in two strand twists. By all rights our hair should be long, and I wish we had found your videos sooner or that more people had taken the time to discover the wonders of their natural hair so we would have had more of a clue as to what to do. Now we do, and with a lot of research are slowly getting the hang of it, so I have to thank you for your inspiration, your hair is amazing (so is your music)! I love this site and am subscribed on YouTube…. Keep it up!

  6. When you’ve done a braid out, twist out, or bantu knot out how do you get your hair ready for bed so that it is still nice the next morning?

  7. Thank you so much and good luck on your journey! You’re going in the right direction by educating yourself and becoming more familiar with your hair. Your hair will thrive! :)

  8. Does the pineapple method work for shorter hair also? My hair hasn’t hit my shoulder yet so a ponytail would require a lot of pulling.

  9. I’m truley having a hard time grwoing my hair. or maybe i should say it’s taking a long time to grow to the length that I want. ok so I did the big chop back in 2007. I grew out soo nice then I put a perm in it. Diaster. I did the big chop again in July of 2011. and my hair is taking it’s sweet time to grow. Yes, I’m a product junkie. right now I have braids in it. I oil me scalp everyday, i spray with water just about everyday or otherday. It’s been 14 months and it’s not wear I want it to be. Please help.

  10. Hiii! You know… LOL! I don’t judge a product junkie! LOL! I will say find your staple products and stick to those as a major part of your regimen, but if you feel the need you can continue to experiment with other product to keep it fun! You just big chopped in 2011…how long is your hair now? Why do you feel it is growing slow? What is your hair goal?
When it comes to my hair growth I try to be as realistic as possible. When I started growing my hair out. I just did the map, so that I could predict my hair growth. I became serious about hair growth in my second year. I learned most people only grow about 6 inches a year, but they only retain 3-4 inches of that. So, that is what I expected every year. :)
